This refurbishment project was commissioned by a client who wanted a radical change from the existing rustic “finca” style property. Situated in a prime location in the hills above Puerto de Andratx against the backdrop of the Sierra Tramuntana. The property overlooks the port with sensational views out to the harbour and the open sea. The concept was to update and refine the look of the property whilst maintaining the rustic elements of the rural Mediterranean theme with terracotta tiled roofs and a stone faced façade that blends in naturally with the surrounding environment. This stonework is extended around the property with hand-crafted dry stone walls separating specific areas of the garden. The majority of the floor to ceiling windows around the house feature traditional
“persiana” folding painted shutters. Wood decking has been used for the large exterior terrace with swimming pool and sunbathing area. On other open and covered terraces a combination of stone paving and pebbled areas provide yet further texture. Inside the main house the look is contemporary modern and the layout has been completely reorganised to create a large open space with designated living and dining areas. Large glazed panels not only maximise the incredible views but also provide wonderful light filled rooms that feel extraordinarily spacious.
